Electric cars, or battery-powered cars (as they are also called), are often a perfect gift for a kid. They come in different designs and, as kids toys industry likes to make it, a perfect model for every kid out there! Let's see more on kids' electric cars and how to choose the perfect one.
(Kids) Electric cars - Basics
Kids electric cars can bring the ultimate happiness for rides in the backyard or around the neighborhood!
The hype around electric cars is highest than ever, and kids were on it before adults… Kids electric cars come as a perfect toy gift for everyone – there are Barbie-style, popular car brands style, two seater, one seater, jeeps, ATVs, bikes, pink, red, black, blue…basically, whatever type of vehicle is there for grown-ups, there is a smaller "copy" for kids.
Cars can also be different in terms of battery power or output power/speed. They usually come from 6V to 48V.
Also, most of the models come with the remote control so that the parents can control the car (this is mainly depending on the car model according to the child age). In most models this feature does not limit the kids in their play driving because the remote control has the full control over the car while kids can push the pedals and turn the wheel without real effect.
Stability and safety is something that shouldn't be concern. Manufacturers (at least those quality and serious ones) are very cautious about this and keep it at the highest standard. All cars are (or should be) certified for use, so make sure to check this if interested in buying one for your kid!
Things to consider when buying kids electric car
As mentioned before, there are plenty of different designs, but also different age, power, additional features, options when choosing a kids electric car.
Let's see a few things you should look at when buying one.
Battery/Power - Majority of kids electric vehicles are powered by rechargeable 6V or 12V batteries. These batteries are rechargeable and replaceable. Depending on the battery power, car can drive longer (usually, it is around 1.5 to 2 hours of driving). Car power and by it the speed also depends on the battery power. So, if the price is not the main concern, better opt for stronger battery.
Age – Age mainly influence the car size, possible speed, and remote control option. Kids electric cars come for kids of 1 year to teenagers. Mostly, it is an option for kids that are 1-7 years old.
Type of vehicle – Most popular choice are electric cars. But, there are also bikes, ATVs, tractors, scooters… And cars can be one-seater or two-seaters. Motorcycles/bikes come with 2 fixed rear balance wheels, so stability is not compromised.
Additional features – We mentioned in some cases optional remote control, but that aside, there are many more additional features electric car can have: LED lights, disco lights, Radio FM, MP3 player, Bluetooth, AUX and USB connectors, car horn, working (open/close) doors, seatbelts…
